LOGLINE
In a world where consciousness has been turned into a manageable resource, an elite security chief, a disillusioned former cop, and a young conscious ape are caught in a system that doesn't collapse — it simply consumes those who keep it running.
ABOUT THE WORK
APEPUNK is a long-form graphic novel exploring dehumanization as the logical outcome of systems designed to maximize efficiency and control. It is not a story about heroes or solutions.

It follows characters who absorb damage — and the irreversible cost of remaining functional within a world that was never designed to protect them.Influenced by classical tragedy and literary science fiction.

Intended for readers drawn to moral conflict, atmospheric storytelling, and work that resists easy resolution.

About the author
Marco Rodríguez is an economist and illustrator based in Mexico City.

APEPUNK combines both disciplines: the narrative draws directly from an understanding of how systems and incentive structures operate — not as metaphor, but as the actual mechanism of the story.

The project is developed as a solo work: writing, art, design, and lettering by the author.
